Khanyisa Brancon

South African 2002- 

Khanyisa Brancon, originally from Tzaneen in Limpopo, is a multidisciplinary artist who holds a BA in Fine Arts from the University of the Witwatersrand. Her creative practice spans photography, printmaking, and installation, with a particular emphasis on the use of textiles to foreground the importance of materiality. Through her work, she investigates themes of genealogy, the erasure, matrilineage and indigenous systems of knowledge. Brancon is also a member of a collective of Black women printmakers from Limpopo, united through their shared commitment to the medium.
