Mongezi Ncombo

South African 1987- 

Mongezi Ncombo was born in Mthatha. He studied Visual Art and Design at Central Johannesburg College and furthered his education at the Artist Proof Studio in 2012. Ncombo specializes in mixed media, combining acrylic drawing ink, painting, and old postage stamps collaged into his work. He exhibited with the Redroom Gallery in the Disrupt 2021 exhibition and was selected as an exceptional artist in the Spier Art Trust mentorship program in 2021. His art has been showcased at various galleries, including the AVA Gallery and GIF Gallery. Ncombo also participated in the Turbine Art Fair in 2022. Currently, he is an artist-in-residence at the Modern Art Project South Africa (MAPSA) while managing the Richmond Bookbinding Project.
