Joseph

French 1961- 

Joseph, born in Paris in 1961, is a contemporary French artist whose practice draws on imagery and symbols associated with popular culture. Through the appropriation and reinterpretation of familiar visual references, his work engages with themes surrounding contemporary society and culture.

His artistic training began with architecture at the EDPI, followed by studies in graphic arts at the Sornas School. He subsequently attended the École des Beaux-Arts de Paris, where he focused on painting and drawing. This multidisciplinary background informs his approach to image-making, combining graphic elements with the traditions of fine art.
