South African 1987- 

Craig Cameron Mackintosh was raised in White River, Mpumalanga, and relocated to Cape Town in 2007 to study Film. Since 2015, he has been working as a full-time artist. His background in both his hometown and film studies has significantly shaped the themes, depth, and technical approach of his art. Drawing inspiration from photographs, Mackintosh investigates the cinematic interplay of light and shadow, transforming familiar and everyday spaces by obscuring certain details to alter perception. His work has been featured at the Cape Town Art Fair and Expo Chicago, and he is a recipient of the Sanlam Portrait Award (2019).
