Harald Bertrand

Norwegian 1856–1890 

Harald Bertrand Hansen was an artist described as working during the middle generation of naturalism. He first studied at the Drawing School from 1876 to 1879 and then under Knud Bergslien (1827–1908). After completing his studies, he set up a shared studio in the artists' quarter at Pultosten, where he and other artists received guidance from Christian Krohg and other Norwegian artists.

He made his exhibition debut at the Autumn Exhibition in 1883, showing Autumn Day, Karl Johan (1883). Other works by the artist are held in the collections of the National Gallery in Oslo and the Væringsaasen Collection at the Glomdalsmuseet in Elverum.
