Loyiso Mkize

South African 1987- 

Loyiso Mkize is a South African visual artist. In 2009, he received a diploma in graphic design from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in Cape Town. Mzike worked as the head illustrator for a soccer comic book, Supa Strikas, before beginning his own company in 2015, Loyiso Mkize Art, and creating the superhero comic book KWEZI. In addition to illustrations, Mkize is passionate about portrait painting, which he does in oil on canvas.

Mkize’s work was featured in the exhibition Still Here Tomorrow to High Five You Yesterday (2019) at Zeitz MOCAA and in 2021 he pencilled a chapter for DC Comics’ Batman: Urban Legends #4.
