Marina Walsh

Marina Walsh is a seasoned artist who, in her 30-year career as a ceramic designer and sculptor, has participated in numerous group shows and fairs. For the past 18 years, she has operated a private sculpture school. Her portfolio includes life-size bronze and concrete sculptures displayed in public spaces in both London and South Africa, demonstrating her international reach. In her artistic practice, Walsh weaves together various materials to create figurative sculptures. Her works often incorporate concrete draped like blankets over human-like figures, prompting reflection on the concepts of comfort, empathy, wealth, well-being, and social structures in urban settings. Additionally, she explores the interdependence between trees, nature, and humanity, particularly within Johannesburg's artificial forest.
