Ilené Bothma

South African 1981- 

Ilené Bothma, a versatile multidisciplinary artist, begins her creative journey with ideas that lead to various mediums such as painting, textiles, sculpture, photography, or video. Her work delves into themes of intimacy, family, grief, loss, and the human condition. Holding two Fine Art Master's degrees, one with distinction from the University of Northumbria, she has earned recognition as a finalist in national art competitions like Sasol New Signatures, Vukela Art Competition, and Barclays l’Atelier. Bothma's art has graced exhibitions both locally and internationally and finds a place in notable private and public collections, including M&C Saatchi Abel.
