Frank Marshall

South African 1985- 

Frank Marshall is a South African photographer who focuses on portraiture. Marshall graduated from Tshwane University of Technology in 2010 with a Bachelor of Technology in photography. He is well known for his photographs of musicians and, in particular, for his photographic works of the heavy metal sub-culture in Botswana, which were the basis for his final year thesis. Images from this thesis culminated in Marshall’s solo exhibition, Renegades, which won him international recognition as one of ten finalists in the Sony World Photography Awards Student Focus Competition. The Renegades series was exhibited in numerous venues in South Africa and in the United States of America. Works from the series were acquired for Stanford University and the J. Paul Getty Museum, USA.
