Helga Kohl

Polish/Namibian 1943- 

Helga Kohl is a photographer of considerable renown. The numerous awards and commendations she has received include three awards from PPSA, the Professional Photographers of Southern Africa: The Presidents Award, Associate Membership of the PPSA in Architectural Photography in 1995, and the PPSA Award of a Fellowship in Fine Art Photography in October 1998.

In addition to the Kolmanskop series, Kohl’s body of work includes her black and white Elizabeth Bay works, exploratory engagement with contemporary architecture, focusing on colour in her abstract fine art series and portraits.
