Micha Serraf

Zimbabwean 1994- 

Micha Serraf earned his Fine Art Degree with Honours from the University of Cape Town, where he focused on photography. His artistic practice delves into the in-between spaces shaped by both personal and ancestral nostalgia, engaging deeply with themes such as home, displacement, memory, and identity. Currently, Serraf is an artist-in-residence at Gasworks in London. His work has been recognised with several accolades, including the Ritzau Art Prize and the International Pride Best Single Image award. He was also a finalist for the Norval Sovereign Art Prize. Serraf’s photography has appeared in prominent publications including Vogue Ghana, Vogue Italia, and the British Journal of Photography. Additionally, his work was featured in South Africa’s national Life Orientation curriculum, alongside renowned artist Zanele Muholi.
