South African 1957- 

Jill Trappler is a South African painter. Trappler's work is in various private, corporate, and public collections; South African National Gallery, Vodacom, SABC, Investec, and Nandos UK. Trappler exhibits regularly in group shows nationally and abroad.

Living in Cape Town for the past 40 years, Trappler has worked throughout the Peninsula creating employment opportunities by teaching various crafts and art-making. She has established numerous outreach initiatives including Thupelo Cape Town, Greatmore street studios, the Philani Weaving Project, the Intle Cooperative Project, and most recently The Orange Art Project.

As a weaver and spinner by trade, Trappler applies the dynamics of colour mixing, textures, and surfaces to her image-making.
