Ben Orkin

South African 1998- 

Ben Orkin graduated with a BFA from the Michaelis School of Fine Art in 2020. He has held three solo exhibitions with WHATIFTHEWORLD, including You told me... (2019), Extra Safe (2021), and Backroom, Bookstores, Balconies, Meattracks and Tearooms (2023). His work has featured in notable exhibitions such as Re/presentation of the Figure (Strauss & Co, 2024) and We, the People: 30 Years of Democracy in South Africa at the Norval Foundation (2024–2025). Orkin is the recipient of the Simon Gerson Prize (2021), and his work is held in both local and international collections, including OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH, Austria and the A4 Arts Foundation, Cape Town.
