Balekane Legoabe

South African 1995- 

Balekane Legoabe holds a degree in Visual Communication as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Film Arts. Her artistic practice explores the parallels between human experience and the recurring patterns found in nature. Drawing inspiration from a wide range of sources – including ancient rock and cave art, as well as mythology – Legoabe creates work rooted in personal reflection and exploration. She has exhibited in numerous group shows across South Africa and was awarded the StateoftheART Gallery Award in 2019. Her artworks form part of several notable collections, including the UCT Collection and Spier Arts Trust in Cape Town, and the Museum für Kunst in Hamburg.
