Anton Momberg, born in 1951 in Polokwane (formerly Pietersburg), is a South African sculptor known for his detailed, realist portrayals of the human figure, particularly the female nude. He studied at Port Elizabeth Technikon, earning a Teaching Diploma in Fine Art under the guidance of Hillary Graham and Neil Rodger. Specialising in bronze and polyester resin, Momberg’s meticulous sculptures convey an unsettling yet captivating presence. His work has been showcased globally, including exhibitions in London and the British Museum, as well as in South Africa at the Iziko South African National Gallery in Cape Town, the Johannesburg Art Gallery, and the Nelson Mandela Metropol Art Museum in Port Elizabeth.
