Jared Ginsburg

South African 1985- 

Jared Ginsburg, born in Cape Town in 1985, is a South African artist known for his exploration of alternative knowledge production through various media, including painting, sculpture, video, drawing, and performance. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Cape Town’s Michaelis School of Fine Art in 2010, receiving the Michaelis Prize as the top graduate. Ginsburg’s work often incorporates kinetic sculptures created from found objects and rudimentary construction methods. He has held eleven solo exhibitions, both locally and internationally, and his work is housed in permanent collections such as the Art Institute of Chicago, A4 Arts Foundation in Cape Town, the Rennie Museum in Vancouver, Canada, and Astrup Fearnley in Oslo, Norway.
