Lisa Watkin

South African 1980- 

Lisa Watkin is a South African artist born in Durban in 1980 and currently living in Cape Town. She completed a National Diploma in Fashion Design in 2001, after which she spent a decade working in various creative industries before earning a degree in Business Administration.

Her practice has been shaped and supported by mentorships with established artists, and she continues to refine her technique through dedicated study and exploration.
Watkin works primarily in oils, at times enriched with textural elements such as fabric and thread. Her paintings reflect a deep fascination with nature particularly its complexity and interconnectedness. She hopes, through her work, to inspire a greater reverence and respect for nature.
