Pamela Stretton

South African 1980- 

Pamela Stretton holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Rhodes University (2002) and a Master's degree from the University of Cape Town (2005), both with distinction. She received academic honours and art awards during her studies. Stretton's art explores a dynamic interplay of scale and merges digital photographic print mediums with handcrafted reworking. Her textured surfaces add depth to works layered with meaning and creative process, resulting in unique prints. Her subjects range from beauty ideals to consumerism, women's roles, narcissism, and social media. Stretton has exhibited globally, represented by galleries and collections worldwide, including in Silicon Valley. She currently lives and works in Cape Town.
