Sue Vermaas

South African 1965- 

Sue Vermaas was born in 1965 in South Africa.

The artist started teaching art and did so for 15 years before she decided explore and expand on the ability to communicate visually. She went on to complete a Master's degree comparing language and art, which resulted in a consolidation of what she pursues in her work now. She has taken part in workshops under the guidance of Professor Elfriede Dreyer in Pretoria and also facilitated workshops with other artists. Further, she has completed a certificate in Art Therapy with Hayley Bergman at Lafika Podiso.

The artist has worked at the Blue Door Print Studio under Collin Cole and in 2023, participated in the Top 40 Portrait Award Exhibition at Rust-En-Vrede Gallery.
