Jenny Parsons

South African 1967- 

Jenny Parsons was born in Durban, South Africa in 1967. The urban landscape artist is based in Cape Town producing works that take inspiration and influence from her surroundings where nature intersects with human habitation. She completed a Higher National Diploma in Fine Arts in 1988 from the Natal Technikon.

Mostly working in oils and chalk pastel, fynbos plays a significant part of her exploration of brush mark, colour and light, as she explores outdoor painting as well.
She has hosted solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions nationally. Parsons also lectured at the Natal Technikon and worked at multiple other art and educational institutions including the Community Arts Project and Ruth Prowse College of Art and Design. In 1996, together with artists Mary Visser and Diana Page, she started the Boudoir Biscuits, a collective of women artists.

The artist's work features in multiple private and public exhibitions across South Africa.
