Cinthia Sifa Mulanga

Congolese 1997- 

Cinthia Sifa Mulanga was born in 1997 in Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Originally trained as a printmaker at Artist Proof Studio, she is currently a Johannesburg-based artist who creates vibrant paintings and collages. Through symbolic spaces and references to popular culture, her work interrogates the portrayal of Black women in art and celebrates their resilience and self-expression. In 2023, she was a finalist for the Norval Sovereign African Art Prize, and the following year she had a solo exhibition at the Investec Cape Town Art Fair. Mulanga has also collaborated with Gucci on their Diana tote bag.
