Kevin Roberts

South African 1965-2009 

Kevin Roberts was born in Rustenburg, in the North West province of South Africa. He received a National Diploma in Fine Arts in 1988, followed by a National Higher Diploma in Fine Arts, both from Pretoria Technikon. He won several awards during his career, including the 1995 Volkskas Bank L’Atelier Competition and the 1996 Kempton Park/Tembisa Fine Art Award. Women are the subject of his calm surrealist works, which often include animals along with recurring symbolic motifs. He regularly exhibited with Everard Read, and his artworks form part of the collections of the Pretoria Art Museum, Absa Bank, Sanlam, Unisa, and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
