Quinta de la Rosa

Portugal - Douro Valley 

Quinta de la Rosa is one of the Douro's most distinguished single-quinta estates, given as a christening present to Claire Feuerheerd in 1906 and in the Bergqvist family for over a century. The estate was a pioneer of single-quinta bottlings and direct estate sales, its eight A-graded single vineyards totalling 55 hectares on the southeast-facing banks of the River Douro, one kilometre from Pinhao in the Cima Corgo. The wine is produced from old mixed-variety plantings foot-trodden in traditional granite lagares, with all winemaking, ageing and bottling carried out on the estate.
