Kühling-Gillot

Germany - Bodenheim, Rheinhessen 

Weingut Kühling-Gillot is one of Rheinhessen’s most respected estates, with a winemaking history stretching back more than 200 years. Based in Bodenheim, the estate is particularly renowned for its Rieslings from the steep vineyards of the Roter Hang along the Rhine, where red slate soils impart distinctive minerality, precision and depth. The estate’s celebrated sites include Hipping, Pettenthal, Ölberg and Rothenberg, with the latter producing the estate’s highly sought-after VDP.GROSSES GEWÄCHS Riesling. Today, the estate is led by Carolin Spanier-Gillot and H.O. Spanier, with a philosophy centred on authenticity, natural fermentation, extended lees ageing and allowing the character of each vineyard to express itself. Its wines are recognised for their elegance, fine acidity, mineral complexity and exceptional ageing potential.
