Domaine Luneau-Papin is one of the leading estates of Muscadet Sèvre et Maine, with a winemaking heritage that brings together two historic Nantais families, the Luneau and Papin lineages, whose viticultural roots date back to the 17th century. The modern domaine was established in 1990 by Pierre Luneau and Monique Papin and is now in its ninth generation, with Marie and Pierre-Marie Luneau at the helm. Located near Nantes, the estate farms a diverse collection of vineyards on granite, gneiss, schist, micaschist and other distinctive geological formations. The domaine is particularly recognised for its precise, terroir-driven expressions of Melon de Bourgogne, including its celebrated single-vineyard cuvées. Organic farming was introduced in 2008, followed by biodynamic viticulture, with Demeter and Biodyvin certification achieved in 2019. The wines are characterised by freshness, salinity, minerality and remarkable ageing potential.
