Mont-Redon

France - Rhône Valley

Château Mont‑Redon is one of the most historic and significant wine estates in the Southern Rhône Valley, with vineyard roots reaching back to Roman times when vines were first planted on the plateau that gives the property its name. In 1923, Henri Plantin acquired the then‑modest vineyard holdings, and over successive generations his descendants, now the Abeille‑Fabre family (4th generation), have expanded and consolidated the estate into one of the largest contiguous vineyards in Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape. Today the domaine encompasses roughly 186 ha of land with about 100 ha under vine in Châteauneuf‑du‑Pape, alongside holdings in Lirac and Côtes du Rhône appellations, reflecting both deep heritage and regional breadth.
