Château Naudé Wine Creation is a family wine business rooted in the Western Cape of South Africa, founded in 2006 and inspired by the late François Naudé Snr’s lifelong pursuit of what he called “magic” in wine. Although François Naudé passed away in 2025, his wines remain highly sought after, prized for their individuality, craftsmanship and sense of place.

At the end of 2005, François Naudé, then winemaker and cellarmaster at L’Avenir Wine Estate, announced what he termed his “retirement” from winemaking. This pause proved short-lived. By mid-2006 he was consulting to a select group of respected producers, and his reputation quickly grew. As demand for his expertise increased ahead of the 2007 harvest, a clear vision emerged within the Naudé family.

That vision was to create the ultimate South African wine from a single vintage: a true crème de la crème, unique, exclusive, and imbued with a touch of magic. Today, Château Naudé stands as a testament to François Naudé’s philosophy and enduring influence, with wines that continue to captivate collectors and connoisseurs alike.
