Gratien & Meyer is a historic Saumur house renowned for its traditional-method sparkling wines and more than 150 years of Loire Valley winemaking heritage. Founded in 1864 by Alfred Gratien, the house established its cellars in ancient tuffeau-stone quarries overlooking the Loire, where the cool, underground galleries provide ideal conditions for bottle ageing. The house specialises in Saumur Brut and Crémant de Loire, with Chenin Blanc at the heart of many of its wines, complemented by varieties including Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc. Gratien & Meyer combines traditional craftsmanship with modern winemaking techniques, allowing its wines to develop freshness, elegance and complexity during extended cellar ageing.
