Domaine Grier

France - Agly Valley 

Domaine Grier is the French estate of South Africa’s Grier family, established in 2006 in the heart of the Roussillon. Situated in the Fenouillèdes, near Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet in the Agly Valley, the estate occupies a single vineyard block surrounded by forest and scrubland, with the Pyrenean breezes and elevated location contributing to slow, even ripening. The domaine produces wines that combine the family’s New World winemaking experience with the distinctive Mediterranean terroir of southern France. Its vineyards include Syrah, Grenache, Carignan, Maccabeu and Chardonnay, with the wines characterised by ripe fruit, spice, freshness and an appealing balance between richness and structure. The estate has become a distinctive expression of the successful connection between South African winemaking heritage and the traditional terroirs of Roussillon.
