Allesverloren

Swartland

Allesverloren Wine Estate, nestled on the slopes of the Kasteelberg in the Riebeek Valley of the Swartland, is one of the oldest wine estates in South Africa, with a history dating back to 1704. The farm has been in the hands of the Malan family since 1872, currently managed by fifth-generation winemaker Danie Malan. The Malans were pioneers in introducing Portuguese grape varieties to South Africa, and Allesverloren Port, crafted from Tinta Barocca, Touriga Nacional, Souão, and Tinta Francisca, remains one of the most celebrated and historic fortified wines in the country. In 2010, Danie Malan became the first South African cellar master to receive Sweden’s Golden Glass International Producer of the Year award.
