Baron de Ley

Spain - Rioja

Baron de Ley is a high-profile Spanish winery located on the east side of the river Ebro in the Rioja DOCa and best known for red wines, and the Tempranillo grape variety. The estate has a history dating back to the construction of its signature fortress in 1548. It eventually became a Benedictine property, with the monks planting the first vines on the property. The Baron de Ley winery was founded in 1985, with the monastery becoming the headquarters for the winery. The Baron de Ley Winery is a member of the Baron de Ley Group along with El Coto de Rioja and Finca Museum in Cigales.
