Domaine du Vieux Lazaret

France - Châteauneuf-du-Pape 

Domaine du Vieux Lazaret is a historic Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate owned by the Quiot family, whose winemaking heritage in the Rhône stretches back generations. The domaine takes its name from an historic Lazarist hospice that once occupied the site. Its vineyards are spread across a number of parcels within Châteauneuf-du-Pape, giving the estate access to a diversity of soils and terroirs characteristic of the appellation. The wines are traditionally based on Grenache, complemented by Syrah, Mourvèdre and other permitted Rhône varieties, producing generous, full-bodied wines marked by ripe fruit, spice, supple tannins and the distinctive garrigue character of the Southern Rhône. The estate combines traditional family winemaking with modern cellar techniques to produce wines with both richness and approachability.
