Patek Philippe

Geneva, Switzerland

Patek Philippe was founded in Geneva in 1839 by Antoine Norbert de Patek and, later, Adrien Philippe, inventor of the keyless winding mechanism. From the beginning, the maison became synonymous with technical innovation and refined craftsmanship, securing numerous patents and creating some of the most complicated mechanical watches in history.

The brand’s reputation was cemented by iconic models, such as the Calatrava (1932), an elegant round dress watch, and the Nautilus (1976), one of the first luxury sports watches made in steel. Guided by the motto “You never actually own a Patek Philippe. You merely look after it for the next generation,” the company emphasizes heritage, longevity, and family tradition. Today, it is still independently owned, making it one of the most prestigious and sought-after names in haute horlogerie.
