Errico Cassar

Cape Town, South-Africa 

Errico Cassar is a South African jeweller and educator working with metal and organic materials such as bone, shell, mother-of-pearl, and horn. He holds a BA in Fine Arts (Jewellery Design) from Stellenbosch University and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Akademie der Bildenden Künste, Munich. Formerly Head of Jewellery Design at Stellenbosch University, he has received the Herbert Hoffmann Prize (Germany) and the De Beers Diamond International Award. His work appears in 500 Brooches and 500 Enameled Objects (Lark Books, USA) and Schmuck Jewellery, Danner Foundation, and is represented in collections including Die Neue Sammlung, Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich.

Errico’s practice explores form and surface through techniques such as lost-wax casting and vitreous enamel, combining meticulous craftsmanship with sculptural experimentation to produce jewellery that balances innovation, tradition, and material presence.
