Port Elizabeth, South Africa 1948-1959 

D. & O. Frye was a South African furniture manufacturing company founded in Port Elizabeth in 1948 by brothers Derek and Owen Frye.

They produced locally made contemporary furniture using imported veneers and hardwoods and their work reflected Scandanavian trends of the 1950s.

In 1959 the Frye brothers merged their company with G. H. Starck Ltd. of Cape Town, becoming Frystark a combination of the surnames Frye and Starck.
