Liz Loubser

Stellenbosch, South-Africa 

Liz Loubser studied Jewellery Design at Stellenbosch University, graduating in 1982. She has taught at various institutions and established her own jewellery studio in 1992, where she continues to work. Fascinated by biomimicry, Liz explores the relationship between plants and handmade jewellery, using her craft to engage deeply with natural forms. Her process often begins by closely observing and replicating a plant, creating an intimate dialogue between the material and the organic subject. Through this approach, her work translates the delicate intricacies of nature into tactile, wearable forms, combining technical skill with conceptual exploration.
