Lilly Friedlaender

Stellenbosch, South-Africa 

Lilly Friedlaender was born in Stellenbosch, South Africa, and studied at the University of Stellenbosch, where she earned a BA in Creative Arts (Jewellery Design) in the 1970s under the guidance of E. Dechow and D. Dill. She went on to work with renowned goldsmith John Donald in London before completing a postgraduate year at the Fachhochschule in Düsseldorf, Germany, under F. Becker. Upon returning to South Africa, Lilly worked as a jewellery designer for a major manufacturing company in Cape Town and later lectured at the University of Stellenbosch. She opened her own workshop in Church Street, Stellenbosch, where she specialises in private commissions. An active participant in exhibitions, Lilly’s work is represented in private collections both locally and internationally.
