Omega

Biel/Bienne, Switzerland

Omega was founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Originally a small workshop assembling key-wound watches, the company quickly grew into one of the world’s most innovative and recognized manufacturers. Its name “Omega” was adopted in 1894 after the success of its revolutionary 19-ligne “Omega” caliber, symbolizing mechanical perfection.

Omega has a long history of precision, being the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games since 1932 and setting numerous records in observatory chronometer trials. It is also celebrated for the Speedmaster Professional, famously known as the “Moonwatch,” worn during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969 as the first watch on the Moon. Other iconic models include the Seamaster (introduced in 1948), a professional diving watch later associated with James Bond, and the Constellation, known for elegance and chronometer accuracy.

Today, Omega continues to be a leader in innovation, pioneering antimagnetic movements, co-axial escapements, and enduring designs that bridge sport, science, and luxury.
