Grete Juel Jalk

Denmark 1920-2006 

Grete Jalk was one of the leading figures in Danish Modern furniture design and one of the few woman to achieve international prominence in a male dominated industry.

She opened her own design studio in 1953 , working with leading Danish manufacturers including Fritz Hansen. Her work combined exceptional craftmanship with innovative moulded and laminated plywood construction inspired by Alvar Aalto and Charles Eames.
