Notes
In 1948, brothers Derick and Owen Frye started a furniture manufacturing business in Port Elizabeth. Heavily influenced by European design, they imported Scandanavian veneers, oils and styles to craft modern, affordable furniture.
These chairs date from this earlier Frye period before they merged with G. H. Starck Ltd of Cape Town to become Frystark.
