About this Item
The 2009 Côte de Beaune harvest produced wines of exceptional richness, ripe concentration and deeply satisfying opulent character, a vintage of considerable generous proportions that stands as one of the finest in recent Burgundy history for both immediate pleasure and continued evolution. Bouchard Père & Fils' 2009 Le Corton has earned 17.5 points from Julia Harding MW at JancisRobinson.com. Le Corton is the historic Grand Cru vineyard that gave the Corton appellation its name, the only red Grand Cru on the Côte de Beaune, with Bouchard Père & Fils farming 3.20 hectares of limestone and clay soils at the summit of the hill since 1909 in a position of incomparable mineral intensity, complexity and structural longevity. The wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir, aged 12 to 14 months in French oak with 40 to 50% new barrels.

Critics Ratings
“Intense bright fruit, so open, but with a darker pepperiness underneath. Succulent, flavourful and elegant all at the same time. Powdery fine tannins. Lovely.” - Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Jan 2011)
