About this Item
Le Corton 2014
3 (1 x 3) 750ml
The 2014 Côte de Beaune harvest produced wines of exceptional purity, fine mineral precision and classical structure, a vintage of notable freshness and genuine longevity that stands as one of the most elegantly composed and characterful efforts of the decade for red Burgundy. Bouchard Père & Fils' 2014 Le Corton earned 16.5 points from Jancis Robinson MW at JancisRobinson.com. Le Corton is the historic Grand Cru vineyard that gave the Corton appellation its name, the only red Grand Cru on the Côte de Beaune, with Bouchard Père & Fils farming 3.20 hectares of limestone and clay soils at the summit of the hill since 1909, a position of unique topographic distinction that endows its wines with mineral depth and extraordinary longevity. The wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir, aged 12 to 14 months in French oak.
Provenance
These wines have been sourced directly from the ancient 15th Century cellars of Bouchard Père et Fils. They were imported into South Africa in March 2026 by Great Domaines via refrigerated container (reefer), ensuring optimal preservation throughout transit.
Critics Ratings
“45% new oak. Dark ruby. Power and some strong savour on the nose and then very charming sweet fruit on the palate that should see out the fairly powerful tannic charge. Just very slightly bitter on the finish.” - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Jan 2016)
