The 2021 Burgundy harvest produced wines of exceptional purity, fine mineral precision and classical aromatic elegance at every level of the appellation's hierarchy, a vintage of notable freshness and delicate character widely praised as one of the finest recent efforts for Chardonnay across the entire Côte d'Or and the broader Bourgogne appellations. Bouchard Père & Fils' 2021 Bourgogne Chardonnay is drawn from a careful selection of 100% Chardonnay grapes sourced principally from the Côte d'Or and the Côte Chalonnaise, earning 90 points from the CellarTracker community. Bouchard Père & Fils, founded in 1731 and one of the most important domaines and négociants in Burgundy, regards its Bourgogne Chardonnay as a genuine initiation into the great white grape variety of Burgundy, the wine enveloping its fresh fruit with much elegance and reflecting the house's conviction that quality and character begin at the most accessible level of the appellation. The wine is produced from 100% Chardonnay, with 7 to 8 months in French oak for 10 to 25% of the harvest, the remainder aged in stainless steel vats.
