Bouchard Père et Fils
Chambertin 2001
A unique opportunity to acquire wines that define Burgundy’s legacy
About the SessionThese wines have been sourced directly from the ancient 15th Century cellars of Bouchard Père et Fils.
About this Item
The 2001 Côte de Nuits harvest produced wines of genuine classical structure and fine aromatic complexity, a quietly impressive vintage that has rewarded those with the patience to hold with bottles of considerable depth and evolving definition. Chambertin is the most celebrated of Gevrey-Chambertin's nine Grands Crus, its legendary status immortalised by Napoleon Bonaparte who demanded it above all other wines on campaign, its limestone and clay soils producing wines of incomparable power, aromatic complexity and longevity that have made it the most coveted address on the entire Côte de Nuits. The wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir, aged 12 to 14 months in French oak with 40 to 50% new barrels.
Provenance
These wines have been sourced directly from the ancient 15th Century cellars of Bouchard Père et Fils. They were imported into South Africa in March 2026 by Great Domaines via refrigerated container (reefer), ensuring optimal preservation throughout transit.
