About this Item
The 2010 Côte de Nuits harvest is widely regarded as one of the finest of the modern era, producing wines of exceptional structure, aromatic complexity and the extraordinary longevity that marks out a truly great Burgundy vintage capable of rewarding collectors over many decades in the cellar. Bouchard Père & Fils' 2010 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots earned 92 points from Allen Meadows at Burghound.com. Les Suchots is one of Vosne-Romanée's most celebrated Premier Cru vineyards, situated on the northern boundary of the village immediately adjacent to the Grand Crus of Échézeaux and Clos Vougeot, its deep clay and limestone soils producing wines of uncommon richness, aromatic complexity and the kind of silky, seductive texture that has made Vosne-Romanée the most celebrated commune on the entire Côte de Nuits. The wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir, aged 12 to 14 months in French oak with 40 to 50% new barrels.
Provenance
These wines have been sourced directly from the ancient 15th Century cellars of Bouchard Père et Fils. They were imported into South Africa in March 2026 by Great Domaines via refrigerated container (reefer), ensuring optimal preservation throughout transit.
Critics Ratings
“A classic and exceptionally fresh Vosne nose is replete with a wide variety of Asian spice scents that include anise, clove and cinnamon on the notably ripe cassis and black cherry aromas. There is a highly seductive quality to the mouth coating, velvety and suave middle weight flavors that exude a fine dry extract on the silky yet firm finish. This is not quite as complex as the very best of the Bouchard 1ers but this has its own considerable appeal.” - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 92/100 (Apr 2012)
