About this Item
Beaune Clos du Roi 2020
6 (1 x 6) 750ml
The 2020 Côte de Beaune harvest produced wines of exceptional richness, deep aromatic concentration and the kind of opulent, structured generosity that has drawn consistently enthusiastic critical praise for what many regard as one of the most successful and composed red Burgundy vintages of the modern era. Bouchard Père & Fils' 2020 Beaune Clos du Roi is a fine and characterful expression of one of Beaune's most historically resonant Premier Cru vineyards, its regal name derived from the historic ownership of the Dukes of Burgundy, producing a wine of the depth and distinguished character that this celebrated parcel at the heart of the appellation consistently delivers. Beaune Clos du Roi is one of the most celebrated Premier Cru vineyards of Beaune, its name recalling its historic ownership by the Dukes of Burgundy and subsequently the French Crown, its limestone and clay soils situated at the heart of the appellation producing wines of distinctive aromatic depth, fine structure and the noble character that its historic name continues to evoke. The wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir, aged 12 to 14 months in French oak with 30 to 40% new barrels.
