Bouchard Père et Fils

Bonnes-Mares 2007

A unique opportunity to acquire wines that define Burgundy’s legacy
About the Session

These wines have been sourced directly from the ancient 15th Century cellars of Bouchard Père et Fils. They were imported into South Africa in March 2026 by Great Domaines via refrigerated container (reefer), ensuring optimal preservation throughout transit. These historic bottles, among the last remaining examples from the 20th and early 21st centuries, represent some of the Domaine’s most important cuvées. Fine vintages across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune back to 1972 have been selected, checked and captured on the Bouchard database, with a dedicated neck proof tag confirming their recent release from the Bouchard cellars. Bottles from the 2009 vintage and older were also waxed in anticipation of their recent release.

About this Item

Bonnes-Mares 2007
1 (1 x 1) 750ml
Approved by the technical team at Bouchard Père et Fils following inspection and tasting.
The 2007 Côte de Nuits harvest produced wines of genuine elegance and fine aromatic definition, a vintage that has held up admirably and offers rewarding drinking alongside continued development from a year whose classical freshness and purity are increasingly well regarded. Bouchard Père & Fils' 2007 Bonnes-Mares is one of the most celebrated Grands Crus of the Côte de Nuits, straddling the communes of Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis, its varied limestone and clay soils producing wines that combine the feminine elegance and aromatic finesse of Chambolle with the more muscular power and structural depth of Morey in a combination unique in all of Burgundy. The wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir, aged 12 to 14 months in French oak with 40 to 50% new barrels.

Critics Ratings

“Sweet, lightly-cooked cherry, vanilla, and brown spices on the nose of Bouchard's 2007 Bonnes Mares leads to a veritable eruption of ripe red fruits on a palate of textural refinement and unusual energy and brightness for the vintage. Savory salinity, with citrus oil, cherry pit, and white pepper bitterness and pungency help prolong its finish. This displays the sort of vibratory intensity one associates with 2008, representing an exceptional achievement for 2007.” - David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, 93/100 (Jun 2010)

“This has good weight, power and rich fruit. The impressive structure is everything here, forming a solid frame on which to build the ripe plum and fruit flavors.” - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 95/100 (Jul 2010)
