About this Item
The 2007 Côte de Nuits harvest produced wines of genuine elegance and aromatic purity, a vintage defined by classical freshness and early accessibility that continues to offer rewarding and engaging drinking alongside gentle further development. Bouchard Père & Fils' 2007 Échézeaux is a Grand Cru of the village of Flagey-Échézeaux, its well-situated plots on clayey and limestone subsoil sheltered from the wind at the base of the Combe d'Orveau valley on stony ground ideally suited to producing wines of aristocratic finesse, mineral intensity and multi-decade longevity from 100% Pinot Noir. The wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir, aged 12 to 14 months in French oak with 40 to 50% new barrels.
Provenance
These wines have been sourced directly from the ancient 15th Century cellars of Bouchard Père et Fils. They were imported into South Africa in March 2026 by Great Domaines via refrigerated container (reefer), ensuring optimal preservation throughout transit.
Critics Ratings
“Elegance and weight characterize this powerful wine. It has style, moving easily from the perfumed berry fruits to the blacker and dusty tannins, with the concentration of acidity and freshness within the firm texture. For aging.” - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 94/100 (Jan 2010)
