About this Item

Bonnes-Mares 2011
1 (1 x 1) 750ml
Approved by the technical team at Bouchard Père et Fils following inspection and tasting.

The 2011 Côte de Nuits harvest produced wines of good structure and appealing fruit character, a vintage rewarding careful selection with wines of genuine definition and classical early appeal that offer rewarding drinking at the current stage of their development. Bouchard Père & Fils' 2011 Bonnes-Mares earned 17 points from Julia Harding MW at JancisRobinson.com.com, Bonnes-Mares is one of the most celebrated Grands Crus of the Côte de Nuits, straddling the communes of Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis, its varied limestone and clay soils producing wines that combine the feminine finesse of Chambolle with the more muscular depth of Morey in one of the most distinctive and complex terroirs on the entire Côte d'Or. The wine is produced from 100% Pinot Noir, aged 12 to 14 months in French oak with 40 to 50% new barrels.

Provenance

These wines have been sourced directly from the ancient 15th Century cellars of Bouchard Père et Fils. They were imported into South Africa in March 2026 by Great Domaines via refrigerated container (reefer), ensuring optimal preservation throughout transit.

Critics Ratings

“14–18 months in oak, about 50–70% new. Mid crimson. Rich and sweetly spiced on the nose. Rich in relative terms. Both red and black fruit. Succulent, delicate and with a scented aftertaste. Overall lightly built.” - Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Feb 2013)

“Firm structured fruit on nose and palate. A combination of raspberries and tannin. Elegance and depth with a certain freshness. Great length.” - Tom Cannavan, wine-pages.com, 93/100 (Jan 2013)
