About this Item
Maison Brotte has been based in Châteauneuf-du-Pape since 1931, and Les Hauts de Barville is its Châteauneuf, made largely from the family’s own Domaine Barville west of the village, a classic Grenache-Syrah-Mourvèdre red. 2018 was a warm, ripe southern Rhône vintage. James Molesworth from Wine Spectator gave it a rating of 91, and Richard Hemming MW gave it 16.5 out of 20.

Critics Ratings
“Refined style, with a tightly focused beam of bitter cherry and raspberry fruit laced with subtle tea, sandalwood and savory notes. Gently perfumed finish. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.” - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Dec 2020)
“Tasted blind. Dense red fruit, heady spices, ultra-smooth texture on the palate. Concentrated fruit on the finish without any excess oak or extraction, leaving this well balanced with plenty of ageability.” - Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Nov 2019)
